International Day of the Boy Child 2026: TAPA Creating Safe Spaces for Boys Across Africa

Every boy deserves a space where he feels seen, heard, protected, and valued.

As the world marks the International Day of the Boy Child 2026, The Adams Project Africa, a boy-child initiative of The Andino Foundation for Community Development, is leading a bold movement across Africa under the theme: “Creating Safe Spaces for Boys.”

For too long, boys have been taught to hide emotions, endure pressure silently, and “be strong” without support. This year, we are changing that narrative by creating conversations and experiences that remind boys that they matter too.

To mark this year’s celebration , we are curating exciting and impactful activities across communities, schools, and vulnerable spaces in Africa, including:

✓ Football and community tournaments
✓ School outreach and mentorship sessions
✓ Engagements at IDP camps
✓ Story-sharing and healing conversations
✓ Skills development opportunities
✓ Giving back to underserved boys and communities.

These activities are designed not only to celebrate boys, but also to empower, protect, and inspire them to become confident and compassionate leaders, while creating greater awareness about the neglect of the boy child globally.

At The Adams Project Africa, we believe safe spaces do not weaken boys; rather, they build them. A boy who is heard becomes a man who understands. A boy who is supported becomes a man who leads positively.

As Africa joins the global conversation on boy-child development, this campaign serves as a reminder that investing in boys today is investing in safer homes, stronger communities, and a better future for all.

Partner with us. Sponsor the movement. Collaborate with our team closest to you as we prepare for May 16th.

Together, let us raise boys who are not afraid to speak, dream, grow, and thrive.
