The 44th Convocation Ceremony of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, featured a landmark moment with the presentation of The Andino Excellence Award. Organized by The Andino Foundation for Community Development (TAFCOD), the award recognizes academic excellence and community impact.

Award Issued To Evelyn Japhet by the University

Evelyn Japhet, a graduate of the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts, with an impressive CGPA of 4.27, emerged as the first recipient of this prestigious honor. The award, presented on January 25, 2025, at Mamman Kontagora Square, came with a  cash prize of ₦250,000, aimed at empowering the winning student and fostering academic excellence.

Expressing her gratitude, Evelyn said, “I deeply appreciate The Andino Foundation for investing in my future. This gesture will not only be beneficial to me but to my community and the world at large”.

Evelyn Japhet Receiving Award From The VC as Best Graduating Of Her Department

Dr. Sylvanus Dangoji, who represented the Head of Department, Dr. Emmanuel Gana commended the Foundation’s initiative. He described it as a commendable effort to promote and inspire academic excellence among young minds.

The Andino Excellence Award, an annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by TAFCOD, is designed to recognize and reward outstanding academic performance. It reflects the Foundation’s commitment to encourage and celebrate academic excellence  among youths. This award will continue to be presented to the Best Graduating Student of the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts at ABU, Zaria, during each year’s convocation ceremony.
